Pom-pom

The other day my lovely friend and co-maid of honour, Sheena, helped me cross another wedding project off my list. I didn't have a lot of choices as far as tissue paper colours went, but I really love how these sherbet-y colours ended up looking together, and I'm glad I never committed to a hard and fast colour palate!

We may need more, but it sure feels good to be getting things done... especially things that I can actually see and hold in my hands.

Hairbrained.

from here

Despite the fact that I have NO time to spare over the next two days (or maybe because of it), I figured it would be a nice time to leave you with some pictures of pretty hair. The first one looks a bit 'done' to me, but the other two are just imperfect perfection.

*I am bad with the linking lately, I know. The first two pictures came from the same blog, and it was a beautiful one from which I saved many pictures, and then closed the tab never to find it again. If you know, please help!

Flopsy, mopsy, and cottontail

As you may remember, my wedding gown is very simple, as are the bridesmaids dresses.

And simple is lovely. But I wanted some girly, frilly accessories to jazz things up. So, inspired by things such as this and this, I decided to craft up some fabric flowers to adorn our hair and dresses.

I didn't follow any specific directions, though I found tutorials like this one over at 100 Layer Cake and this template on Martha Stewart weddings helpful. after a few trial-and-errors in which one flower looks crazy and another far too flopsy, I beleive I've found the perfect process.
*excuse the poor-quality iphone images. one of my first purchases upon getting a big girl job will be a decent-quality camera.

Not your granny's papercraft.

also to be filed under 'never start a project near bedtime if you are the crazy sort of person who needs to finish everything in one go' and 'taking the schoolbook doodle to a while new level'.

I am pretty pleased with it, though :)

materials:
precision cutting knife,
paper,

Drink up

I love a good cup of tea.

chamomile, peppermint, and chai are my favourites, thought I would never turn down a fragrant green.

something about the utensils used to brew and drink tea have meaning, don't you think? I've always preferred to have a lovely teapot, and I always seem to have a special mug dedicated to it.

(found here)

That said, aren't these just the sweetest? Nothing like a simply designed, solidly made tea set to say here, drink this, it's good for your soul.

Secret

I ordered my wedding dress the other day. You can see it here. (Kyle, don't peek!)

I have been wondering about how to accessorize the dress. I am kind of torn between two looks.

1. Ethereal, princess-of-the-woods

fun

2. Colorful, vibrant, and fun (which, considering the vibe of the food and the invites, etc, may be more fitting with the day)

fun

What do you guys think??

Room Crush

So, um, yeah. I know most of my posts lately have been all, 'look what I have collected from all the other corners of the internet'. But I have been craving pretty images lately, and also feeling like my house is too cluttered. So the designer-magazine quality homes with just enough in them make me happy inside.

from Rene Norman's house tour on ApartmentTherapy. I love the warm quality of the rug, which was apparently from Ikea. Circa 2006. Guess I missed out on that one. Also, the big art peice which takes the eye away from the TV without making a lame attempt at hiding it.
This Nashville home in Cookie Magazine is just too perfect for words. I want a cup of coffee at that table, STAT.
